Neiman Marcus offers first-ever Confederate Fighter motorcycle

leave a comment »

“There’s the startling, dare we say sexy, design that fuses raw power with crisp simplicity. It’s an evolution of the machine, at once taken back down to its core elements while being reinvented and re-engineered for optimal performance. It’s our street-legal sci-fi dream come to life, in the form of the limited-edition Fighter Motorcycle. Ours exclusively courtesy of Confederate Motor Company®, the first ever Fighter packs 190 mph of performance into its cutting edge carbon fiber, titanium, and aluminum chassis. There’s the 64″ wheelbase, 27″H seat, integrated braking system, lots of high-tech bells and whistles, and custom NM edition features. But, honestly, ride it once and you’ll be too jacked up on adrenaline to remember all the details.” -Neiman Marcus.com

“Not sure what to get that motorcycle fan who has everything? How about something that’s never been available before. Joining the first 31 BMW 7 Series models for 2009 in the Neiman Marcus Christmas book are 45 Limited-Edition Confederate Fighter motorcycles. The basic premise of the bike is similar in principle to the rest of the brand’s wares, but the details really make this one stand out. Like the Wraith, the Confederate Fighter uses a girder-style front suspension made up of titanium, aluminum and carbon fiber bits and a 120ci 45-degree air-cooled V-Twin. From there, things diverge rather rapidly, with the Wraith’s carbon fiber monocoque chassis being replaced with a backbone unit made from titanium connected to front and rear bulkheads cut from solid chunks of billet aluminum. Confederate claims a top speed of 190 miles per hour, but that may be just a tad optimistic considering that a prepped Wraith managed a land-speed record of just a tad over 166mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Still, this is one sweet bike that would be awesome to ride. Too bad about that $110,000 price tag. Thanks for the tip, John!” – Autoblog.com

It’s about time I get a little recognition.

Matt Cole Memorial Library

The Matt Cole Memorial Library, housed in the Center for Environmental Studies, is dedicated to interdisciplinary study of the environment; books on global warming, nature writing, and urban planning sit side by side on its shelves. In addition to relevant texts, the library holds a large collection of journals, government documents, newsletters, and multimedia resources available to all members of the Williams community. The second floor of the library houses a Geographic Information Systems laboratory.

Show- China- Rage?

leave a comment »

I was listening to KROQ on the way in this morning and Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine was on, talking about the Republican & Democatic National Convention’s which they took part in – sorta…

Here’s a clip of Rage doing their show with a bull horn after being stopped by the riot police from getting on stage.

Some upcoming concerts I would like to attend:

Smashing Pumpkins
Beck
Weezer
Santana

and to finish this up something ABSOLUTELY horrible…

Crystal Pepsi

leave a comment »

Now I often think about clear Pepsi – I know it’s strange. The year is 1992 and the Buffalo Bills were in the Superbowl and I was relaxin’ with my dad, a bag of doritos and my Crystal Pepsi… that I can say was one of my best Sunday’s ever. Needless to say I was 7 but it was fuckin’ awesome.

So on a hunt for a worthwhile photo to include with this I have come to find out that there are many like me. Crystal Pepsi enthusiasts, or fanatics may be more proper.

Here is a post by a Kari Shulte, who does share my birthday, about how incredible clear Pepsi is.

I must get some sleep… 11 is very late for me nowadays..

Edit: You know after typing this I was redirected to the previous random blog I was checking out. I don’t know why people insist on making up nonsense to post if there isn’t thing to post about.  If I have nothing to say I skip a day.  Please take a look at this page.

Notice the 2 pictures, one was to be taken at the beginning of the week – as said in the post, the other at the end of the week with piles of papers.  Notice the timestamp on the bottom right hand corner of the photos?  I don’t know if I’d be satisfied with my life if I were that bored.

Radiohead was so Awesome

leave a comment »

So we went to Radiohead last night at the Hollywood Bowl – it was amazing. Most definitely the best concert I have ever been to. Parking prices were a little ridiculous but I guess that’s expected from Hollywood. A band called the Liars opened for them – a little loud and obnoxious for my taste. Sounded like they wanted to be some grungy 80′s punk band so bad but it just wasn’t working for them.

I do have to mention the incredible chicken wings we ate before going to the show – I was bragging to Adam right now, he’s so jealous. They were absolutely incredible though, it was like sex in my mouth. The only downside is that I didn’t bring any for lunch today.

We got in some great chug time in the bathrooms before entering the Bowl seeing they don’t allow glass bottles – what a bunch of suckers. Overall the show was great, wouldn’t expect anything any different Nohemi and I were a little disappointed they didn’t play too many old songs from OK Computer or Kid A. I only had my camera phone for pictures and the lights were so incredibly bright on the stage everything just blurred. It’s definitely something that has to be experienced in person. Not to mention who else has a recycled polyester t-shirt? Well we do suckas!

After the show they were handing out the standard propaganda and this caught my eye

Some sweet artists playing at that next month.

Radiohead – Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!

leave a comment »

So my baby y yo are totally going to Radiohead on Sunday. I’ve missed that last 2 chances to see them so it’s awesome we’re gonna get to see them. We waited in line for tickets hours before they went on sale and luckily enough we grabbed a pair.

A little clip from Wikipedia for the less familiar,

“Radiohead are a Grammy Award-winning English alternative rock band from Oxfordshire. The band is composed of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, piano, electronics), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, other instruments), Ed O’Brien (guitar, backing vocals), Colin Greenwood (bass guitar, synthesisers) and Phil Selway (drums, percussion). Since 1993, Radiohead have released seven studio albums. Their first six albums had sold over 25 million copies as of 2007.[1]

Radiohead released their first single, “Creep”, in 1992. Their debut album, Pablo Honey, followed in 1993. “Creep” was initially unsuccessful, but the song became a worldwide hit when reissued a year later, and the band were almost branded as one-hit wonders. Radiohead’s popularity in the United Kingdom increased with the release of their second album, The Bends (1995). The band’s textured guitar atmospheres and Yorke’s falsetto singing were warmly received by critics and fans. Radiohead’s third album, OK Computer (1997), propelled the band to greater fame worldwide. Featuring an expansive sound and themes of alienation from the modern world, OK Computer has often been acclaimed as a landmark record of the 1990s and one of the greatest albums of all time.

The release of Kid A (2000) and Amnesiac (2001) saw Radiohead reach the peak of their popularity, although the albums divided critical opinion. This period marked a change in Radiohead’s musical style, with their incorporation of avant-garde electronic music, Krautrock and jazz influences. Hail to the Thief (2003), which mixed guitar-driven rock with electronics and contemporary lyrics, was the band’s final album for their record label, EMI. Radiohead’s seventh album, In Rainbows (2007), was first released independently as a digital download for which customers selected their own price, later meeting with critical and chart success. In June 2008, EMI issued Radiohead: The Best Of, a compilation which was unsanctioned by the band themselves and comprised of tracks from Radiohead’s time with EMI from 1992 to 2005.” more… .. .

A classic that apparently won’t be heard on Sunday, Creep.

and a personal favorite, Karma Police.
