Vibram Five Fingers

with one comment

These incredibly awesome shoes were introduced to me by Guy at work. Freakin’ awesome in my book and when I can spare another 90$ for some workout shoes I’m totally getting down on some of these.

Santa Anita Derby Day 5k

leave a comment »

So my work with P90X is working out great and I’m 5 days in… 85 to go…

Saturday we ran the Derby Day 5k in Arcadia and it was nice. Finish time was 28:52 averaging 9:15/mi.

I’m still deciding on whether or not I’m going to wait on San Francisco… I really want to get through the P90X and build my muscles up to really hammer San Francisco. California Dreamin’ might have to wait until 2010…

McGruff Survives a Beat-Down

leave a comment »

Looking on Fark this afternoon and I could not stop laughing when I read one of their headlines for a Washington News article today.

“DC bus driver gets off his bus, gives McGruff the Crime Dog a beatdown in front of a bunch of kids, then gets back on his bus and drives away”

Freakin’-A-Hilarious!

“First the Chick-fil-A cow received a beat-down in Fredericksburg, Va. Now, someone takes a shot at everyone’s favorite crime-fighting pooch.

Word of advice for new-look Screech: Hire A-Rod’s cousin ASAP.

McGruff the Crime Dog was the latest victim of the mascot mayhem.

Police said their four-legged hero absorbed a blow to the head over the weekend from a Metro bus driver in front of a group of children but didn’t lose his cool, according to the Washington Examiner.

McGruff, who was actually District officer Tyrone Hardy in costume, was handing out flyers to kids in northwest Washington Saturday when bus driver Shawn Brim, 38, stopped, got out and adjusted his mirrors and then cold-cocked McGruff in the head with a closed fist, according to a police report.

A woozy McGruff staggered. Kids screamed. The alleged attacker hopped back on his bus and drove off.

Other police officers who were there with McGruff and watched the alleged assault quickly tracked down the bus and the driver.

Brim, 38, later told a supervisor that he was trying “to be funny,” Metro spokeswoman Candace Smith told The Examiner on Monday.

“But nobody here finds it funny, believe me,” Smith said. “That kind of behavior is not tolerated.”

Brim was charged with simple assault.

The Examiner said Hardy had a swollen cheek but was more concerned that the alleged attack disturbed the kids who saw it.

No word on whether the Racing Presidents’ security team has been placed on heightened alert.”

Philadelphia Marathon

leave a comment »

So Nohemi and I are leaving in a couple hours to head to NYC. We’ll arrive at 5:00AM Friday morning, get some rest and clean up in NYC then venture off in to the city for some sight seeing. Friday night we’ll head to my Mom’s in Jersey for some rest. Saturday we’ll be heading to Philly to get our bibs and just relax. A few of my old friends should be stopping by. Sunday is race day and then I think we’re just hanging out and we’ll be flying back Monday evening…. short because I’m running late…. need to go to the airport now.

Slow Sunday

leave a comment »

I’ve finally had a day to relax and rest and I’ve definitely taken full advantage of it. I woke up at 9:30ish went and had some pancakes and read some of my new book, The Complete Runner’s Guide; which is decent, the beginning is a bit lethargic but I have faith. I came home watched a little boob tube and fell asleep on the floor, at some point I made it back to bed and woke up about 3:30. I’m off toe see Zack & Miri Make a Porno with Pops in a few.

I don’t know the current status of the Yorba Linda/Anaheim Hills fire but it’s not as smokey or ashy today so my guess it’s pretty much contained. Sorry to those people that lost their homes.

Next Sunday is the Philadelphia Marathon, definitely excited about that, hopefully the jet lag won’t effect me too much!

Back to work tomorrow, going in early again to get inventory updated in the system, boo on that – let me tell you.

Free Taco!

leave a comment »

“A base was stolen last night in Game 1 of the World Series (yes, it seems that they do still bother to televise baseball after the Red Sox are eliminated,) meaning that everyone in America is eligible to receive a free taco. You have the Tampa Bay Rays and shortstop Jason Bartlett to thank this year. Be sure to send him a note.

Much to our delight, the Curiously Australian President of Taco Bell, Greg Creed, was on hand to make the announcement. We love Greg Creed. He’s so… curiously Australian.

To get your free beef crunch taco, go to any participating Taco Bell from 2pm to 6pm on October 28th. Oh, and if you were wondering (as we were) if the base had to be officially stolen in order to qualify for tacos — it did. There were to be no free tacos awarded for defensive indifference.”

Holy Crap it’s Sunday

leave a comment »

Well this weekend certainly went by quickly, it was definitely a good time though. Saturday we all went to the Aquarium of the Pacific, I saw some of the craziest ish I’ve ever seen in my life. I’ll post the pictures tomorrow, the camera is in the car and I’m far too tired to walk outside. I’ve finally started running again, I hope to be ready to run at least a half marathon in Philly – that’s of course if they let me change catagories. I would be satisfied with that, it’s my own fault for not properly preparing.

Today Nohemi and I went to the swap meet, we were there for 5 hours and as usual we bought all the heavy stuff in the beginning. We got some pretty sweet books for a buck each, some nice clothes from Nordstrom for fifteen and gnarly Picaso print for five some socks for the boys a sweet ass black studded belt for three bucks. Those suckers at the mall wanted twenty for the same frickin’ thing, what a bunch of jerks. Nohemi got some sunglasses and we had some snacks there, it was definitely a good time.

We still haven’t decided what we’re going to be for Halloween and it’s coming quick, LOL Nohemi did mention I should be the woman that Spike Jonze dresses up as in Jackass the Movie with her saggy boobs hanging out, I thought it would be a good idea if she was Johnny Knoxville as creepy old guy with nuts hanging out of shorts guy. We’ll see what comes of it all, we’re supposed to go to a party of a friend of hers that she hasn’t seen in like ten years.

Now it’s time for bed and we get to wake up and do it all over again tomorrow – minus the fun part.
